MESSAGE FROM THE XIII WORLD FORESTRY CONGRESS TO THE COP 15 OF THE UNFCCC
The 13th World Forestry Congress, convened in Argentina in October 2009, notes with concern the impacts of climate change on forests and strongly emphasizes the important role forests play in climate change mitigation and adaptation as well as the need for forest-dependent people and forest ecosystems to adapt to this challenge.
On Monday 19th in Palacio San Martin, the Minister for Agriculture,
Livestock and Fisheries, Julian Dominguez, and the Secretary for
Environment and Sustainable Development, Homero Bibiloni, chaired a
meeting with Ministers for Environment and Agriculture who participate
at XIII WFC.

On the 20th of October at 05:00 p.m., the President of the Nation will participate in the Symbolic Planting Ceremony and will unveil an allegorical plaque in the Gardens of Casa Rosada. She will also offer a press conference graced with the presence of special guests, national and international authorities.
